OUR LIGHTHOUSE HISTORY
In 2023, Lee Road UMC went through five open congregational meetings to prayerfully discern its future. Using a consensus model, the People of LRUMC decided to A) remain United Methodist and B) become a "Lighthouse Congregation" welcoming all individuals with full inclusion into the life of the church. In March 2024, Lee Road dedicated in a candlelit outdoors ceremony our new campus lighthouse. Our lighthouse represents the fact that Jesus Christ is our Beacon Light in our mission to fully love, embrace, and accept all persons in His Name. Artist Gene Turner, longtime member of the church, designed the new logo at the request of Pastor Rusty Godfrey.
"I am the Light of the World. Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life."
- Jesus in John 8:12
